The Taj Mahal – You will visit this magnificent monument of love – the Taj Mahal, built by an emperor in memory of his beloved queen. Construction of the Taj Mahal started in year 1631. It is believed that it took twenty two years to complete and more than 20,000 Persian and Indian artisans worked on the monument around the clock. The design, it is said, bears the signature of the legendary architect Ustad Ahamad Lahori. Legend has it that as soon as the construction was completed, he was blinded by Shah Jahan and his hands were cut off. So he should never be able to duplicate the monument. Its perfect proportions, pronounced femininity and numerous ornaments make this building unique. The marble of the facade makes the Taj Mahal appear in pink and gold tones at sunrise and sunset. While it looks dazzling white throughout the day.
